3 Ways to Keep Contacts up to Date on All of Your Devices

To easily contact your friends using different devices, you need to keep contacts up to date on all of your devices. You can do it with three methods.

Contacts are very valuable information, you should keep contacts up to date on all of your devices in the event of losing contacts or getting a new phone. Read on to learn three methods to sync all contacts among all of your devices.

You, like many others, probably use more than one digital devices to better connect with your friends, colleagues, and relatives. On different scenarios, you need to switch the device accordingly.

How do you contact your friends while using a new device which does not have your contacts information? It is kind of awkward to ask a friend’s contact information after they have already told you once. To avoid that, you can either backup contacts or sync contacts across all of your devices.

Method 1 – Keep Your Contacts up to Date on All of Your Devices with iCloud

If you use Apple devices most of the time, then you can sync your contacts with iCloud. Besides Apple devices, like iPhone, iPad, iPod, Mac, you can also access contacts on Windows PC using iCloud for Windows, or simply go to iCloud.com and sign in with iCloud if you use other devices.

You can follow the steps below to setup iCloud contacts sync on iPhone:

Step 1. Go to Settings, tap on your account name, and then select iCloud.

Step 2. Make sure Contacts is toggled to on if it is not already.

Keep Contacts up to Date on All of Your Devices

Step 3. Tap Merge when it asks you if you want to Merge or Cancel.

Then all the contacts stored on your iPhone will be uploaded to iCloud and you can access them across all your devices as long as the iCloud is turned on.

Method 2 –Sync Your Contacts with Google Contacts

if you also use Android devices besides iOS devices, then you can use Google Contacts to sync your contacts to iPhone. Follow the steps below to set it up.

Step 1. Go to Settings and scroll down to select Accounts & Passwords.

Step 2. Tap on the Add New Account button and then select Google to continue.

Step 3. Login with your Google account, toggle on the Contacts option and then tap Save.

After that, your new contact information will also be synced to Google Contacts. You can also manually export and import contacts between iCloud and Google Contacts using vCard files.

Method 3 – Import and Export Contacts Across All Your Devices

Internet may not be available all the time or the signal is not strong enough. In that case, iCloud or Google Contacts cannot update contacts on all your devices. Instead, you can use manually export and import contacts across your devices using IOTransfer.

IOtransfer is iPhone Manager software that helps you to sync contacts and other data to iPhone/iPad/iPod with a few clicks.

You can follow the steps below to transfer contacts from computer to iPhone.

Step 1. Download, install IOTransfer on your Windows 10/8/7 computer.

Step 2. Connect your iOS device to this computer via USB cable, and open IOTransfer.

Step 3. After the program scans your iOS device, it will list all the data that often used. At the Home screen, deselect Photos, Music, Videos, and click Transfer to PC.

Step 4. Connect another iOS device to this PC, click on the MANAGE tab and select Contacts.

Step 5. Click on Import and browse your PC to select the contact list (.ctt format) you just saved on your PC.

Besides iCloud and Google Contacts, you can use IOTransfer to keep contacts up to date on all of your devices. In addition, IOTransfer also allows you to manage and transfer other data between iPhone and PC, free up space without deleting apps, and download videos to iPhone.
