If you are reading this, chances are that you are probably one of the unfortunate few. To help you fix this issue, we have compiled a list of solutions that you could try first before doing something drastic, like replacing your iPhone screen.

Clean Your Screen

The first thing that you should try is thoroughly cleaning your iPhone touch screen. Sometimes oil and other liquids stick to the glass and make screen unresponsive to touch. If you have protector on the screen, remove it and then clean your screen. This might solve your issue, but if it doesn’t work, keep reading the following solutions.

Restart Your iPhone

The next thing you should try whenever some battery-operated device malfunctions is to restart it. This is because continuous use of any device makes it crash in a lot of ways. Restarting usually resolves these issues.

To restart your iPhone hold down the lock button and home button at the same time. If restarting doesn’t work, try the methods mentioned below.

Tidy Up Your iPhone Storage

Sometimes if the device reaches its maximum storage capacity, it starts running slow down, even stuck there. So, check your device storage and if it's close to full, remove at least 20%, so that your iPhone has space to work easily.

If you do not find files to delete, you can use software to clear your iPhone for unwanted junk files. If your iPhone touch screen still is not working properly, there are other things you can try.

Remove Your iPhone Case

There are cases that put extra pressure on the sides of the iPhone and that may cause iPhone screen unresponsive. So, if you have an iPhone case that is too tight for your device, remove it and see if the problem is resolved. If it is not, you can try the method below as a last resort.

Restore Your iPhone

This should be used as a very last resort because it will remove all of your data and reset your iPhone to its factory settings, with which you initially purchased it. If none of the above-mentioned methods work for you, you are probably thinking of getting it replaced, for which you will have to backup your data anyway. So, try this first.

We have talked about how to backup your iPhone through iTunes, iCould and IOTransfer. With IOTransfer, it becomes easy to backup and restore your photos, music and apps. Once you have restored your phone, it should be updated with the latest iPhone software. This method has the potential to rid you of touch screen responsive problem once and for all. But if this doesn’t work as well, contact your nearest Apple Store and see if they can solve the issue. I’ve heard about cases where they actually replaced the iPhone if it had warranty left.

If you know of some other methods that worked for you when iPhone screen unresponsive, leave your suggestions here to let more people know.
