Method 1 Let iPhone Sleep for A While

When the hardware on your iPhone gets too warm, in order to cool down, the screen sometimes will automatically dim and the phone may be powered off.

So, if the iPhone screen keeps dimming when watching videos, don’t panic, try shutting down the iPhone and let it have a rest for a while.

For iPhone X and Later Models

1.       Long press both Power button and Volume down button until the slider appears.

2.       Swipe the slider to the left to shut it down.

For iPhone 8 and Earlier Modes.

1.       Long press both Power button and Home button until the slider appears.

2.       Swipe the slider to the left to power off your device.

Method 2 Turn off Auto Lock

Why does iPhone screen dim when watching videos? The feature of Auto Lock is a screen saver for iOS devices. When your iPhone has been inactive for a period of time, the screen will dim to save power. So, one of the best way to troubleshoot the screen dimming issue it to disable Auto Lock.

Go to Settings > General > Auto Lock. Select Never.

Method 3 Turn off Auto Brightness

If your iPhone’s Auto Brightness is turned on, when you go somewhere dark, the screen will dim to make the light less sharper to protect your eyes. Otherwise, the screen will get brighter.

Try turning off iPhone Auto Brightness and that may fix the problem you’re encountering.

Go to Settings > Display & Brightness, toggle off Auto-Brightness.

Method 4 Reinstall iOS Software
