While reading this article, you might be considering to Jail break your iPhone. The answer is not that much simple. There are many advantages and disadvantages linked with Jailbreaking. But first of all we should know what is jailbreaking.


It is not a small step but Jailbreaking your iPad or iPhone is a big step. You are reconfiguring iOS’s root folder, which will now give developers and you access. When you jailbreak your device then you install any kind of software to your device without its permission from Apple.


Jailbreaking is not a legal process. When you jailbreak your device you become a thief because now you are downloading without buying them. The sole purpose of Jailbreak is to steal application.


Now let’s discuss whether jailbreaking is a good or bad idea.


Disadvantages of Jailbreaking


Stability/Security: if you are going to install an application without its permission from Apple. Then there are significant chances that your device might become unstable because of that application. Those applications can slow down your phone’s performance or they can also brick your phone. And to regain its performance level, you will reset your device but it will be jailbreak.


Unable to Update: After jailbreaking your device, there is a long wait before you could update your device.  After updating your device, you, you will lose your jailbreak and to you will do a full restore to optimize its performance level.


Untrustworthy sources: When you are linked to Cydia community, you are a visible for potential threats. Because now any hacker can upload a corrupt file. These files are quickly reported and removed from the community, but you should not want to be among its first victims. Just one bad application will brick your device and then you will need a full restore to normalize it.


Void of warranty: Jailbreaking your device is a software modification, which can be reversed whenever you want. But if you are sending your device for a reclaim, you need to be careful. First reverse that jailbreak, otherwise it will not be reclaimed.

Piracy:  After jailbreaking your device, you receive many pirated applications. And this costs developers a lot because now people can download every application from app store without paying a single penny to developers.


Advantages of Jailbreaking


Stability/Security: This is a double edged sword. You can use various lock method on various applications. If you are capable enough, you can also add a proxy or firewall. You can delete those applications, which are not in your use. You can also remove ipsw or cache that will significantly free some gigs


New functionality: After jailbreaking your phone, now you can do a lot of things, which you never even imagined. You can now change default toggles in the control panel. With just flick of screen you can free up memory. You are now free to send message via any application. And there are plenty of things that you can do.


Customization: you are now entitled to chance everything that is in your phone. Now you are not bound to Apple’s policy regarding applications usage. You can use graphics, text, icons and everything else
