However, many people complain that after updating to iOS 12, iPhone alarm doesn’t work anymore.

Make Sure You Didn’t Mute Your iPhone

Sometimes, iPhone alarm won’t work just because you’ve somehow muted your device. In this case, check whether your device is muted. If so, turn the mute switch off.

Check the Alarm Sound

In the clock App, if you didn’t set any sound for the alarm, then there will be no sound going off when it’s time.

Go to Clock > Alarm. Tap on “+” on the upper right and tap on “Sound”. Choose a sound you want and tap on “Save”.

Uninstall Third-party Alarm Apps

Try uninstalling any third-party alarm Apps from your iPhone if you encounter iPhone alarm not working frequently because there might be a conflict.

Long press the icon of the third-party alarm App and tap on “x” on the upper left to completely remove the App from your device.

Force Restart Your iPhone

Sometimes, iPhone alarm doesn’t work because of a software glitch. In this case, you should try force restarting your device. Maybe it sounds too simple, but it does fix the issue according to some users. 

Force Restart An iPhone 6S, SE, or Earlier

Long press the home and power buttons simultaneous until the Apple logo appears.

Force Restart An iPhone 7 or 7 Plus

Long press the power and volume down button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo.

Force Restart An iPhone 8 or X

1.       Quick hit the volume up button.

2.       Quick hit the volume down button.

3.       Long press the power button until the Apple logo appears.

4.       Wait for the iPhone to reboot.

Reset All Settings

If none of the methods above work, you might as well consider resetting all settings to fix the issue once for all.

Go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings.

Before doing this, please make sure you have remembered all the passwords because they will be erased in the course of the resetting.
