However, updating to iOS 12 may come with some errors and problems. Here, we’ve listed 5 common iOS 12 updating problems and show you some potential fixes.

Problem 1: Unable to Check for Update iOS 12

Unable to Check for Update is the most common problem arising almost every release of Apple iOS software update. When users check the new update, a message will pop up and saying “Unable to Check for Update, An error occurred while checking for a software update”.

Potential fixes:

1. Go back and re-check the update.

2. Make sure your iOS device is well-connected to Wi-Fi and the battery must not be lower than 50%.

3. Restart your iOS devices or reset the network.

4. Use iTunes for updating, and be sure to back up your iOS device before upgrading.

Problem 2: iOS 12 Stuck on Preparing Update

While downloading iOS 12, it will show you there are something preparing for the update. Generally, it just takes a few seconds but some people may be stuck on the preparing process forever.

1. Restart your iOS device.

2. Make sure your iOS device is well-connected to Wi-Fi and the battery should not be lower than 50%.

Problem 3: iOS 12 Software Update Failed Error Occurred

This issue is just like the above, arising almost every release of Apple iOS software update. It pops up an error saying “Software Update Failed, An error occurred downloading iOS 12”.

Potential fixes:

1. Restart your iOS devise just like the above.

2. Tap the “Close” in the pop-up, wait a few minutes, and then try again.

3. Check network or reset it.

Problem 4: iOS 12 Stuck on Verifying Update

This issue has happened in updating iOS 11 before and now it happens again in updating iOS 12. Generally, Verifying update processing just need to take a few minutes, but sometimes, it may take hours or stuck on the “Verifying update…”forever.

1. Lock and wake your iOS devise by power button for 5 to 10 times.

2. Restart your iPhone.

3. Update to iOS 12 with iTunes.

Problem 5: Unable to Install Update Error Occurred

Some people say that they got an iOS 12 error message popped up saying “Unable to Install Update, An error occurred installing iOS 12”.
