How to Uninstall Programs on Mac by Moving Them to Trash

1.   To begin with, open Finder, the first icon in the Dock bar.

2.       Find the “Applications” option on the left side of the menu, click and open it. Now, you can see all the programs installed on Mac

3.       Choose the program you want to delete, click the right mouse button, and choose “Move to Trash”. Or you can drag it to the Trash in the Dock directly

Note: if you do not run the Mac with an administrator account, you will be asked for an admin passcode to uninstall programs.

4.       In order to uninstall programs on Mac completely, move the cursor to Trash icon, right click and choose “Secure Empty Trash”

How to Uninstall Programs on Mac by Using Launchpad

In addition to moving programs to Trash, you can make use of Launchpad to uninstall them more quickly. With Launchpad method, there is no need to empty the Trash, the programs will be uninstalled directly. Follow these steps:

1.       Open Launchpad (usually, it is the second icon in the Dock), or press F4

2.       Click and hold the program’s icon that you want to uninstall until it starts to jiggle and tap “X” to uninstall the program
