How to Solve YouTube not Playing on Chrome

You might encounter that YouTube stops working/playing on Google Chrome, for example, it doesn’t load, stay blank, or the Chrome freezes or crashes while loading a YouTube video. For now, no need to have tension because in this article we are going to teach you how to solve the video not playing on Google Chrome in several methods below.

Method 1: Allow Flash on the site

If you encounter an error message of “Click to enable Adobe Flash Player" or a message about downloading Flash, it means the site needs permission to use Flash.

In this case, you need to allow Flash to run on websites that you trust.

1. Go to the site with the video.

2. To the left of the web address, click Lock.

3. To the right of "Flash," click the Arrows.

4. Choose Always allow on this site.

5. At the top left, click Reload.

Method 2: Clear Chrome Cache

Some videos issues are caused by Chrome something saved in your cache or browser data.

If you have no idea how to clear the browser cache, follow these steps.

1. Open Chrome to click More Point to More tools and click Clear browsing data…

2. Ensure the checkbox next to Cookies and other site and plugin data and Cached images and files are ticked.

3. Obliterate the items from the beginning of time to delete all data.

4. Click Clear browsing data.

5. Restart Chrome to see if the YouTube video plays.

Method 3: Check the extension

Extensions can be another cause. Try to disable all extensions one by one to find out the extension that causes the problem.

Follow steps below to disable the extensions.

1. Access Settings in Chrome.

2. Next to the extension, uncheck the box next to Enable. This will temporarily disable the extension. If you want to uninstall the extension, click Remove trash .jpg .

3. Check to see if the YouTube video plays.

Method 4: Update Chrome

Videos and games sometimes need the latest version of Chrome.

1. On your computer, open Chrome.

2. At the top right, click More .

3. Click Update Google Chrome. If you don't see this button, you're running the latest version.

4. Click Relaunch.

Method 5: Reset Chrome settings

1.On your computer, open Chrome.

2. At the top right, click More Settings.

3. At the bottom, click Advanced.

4.Under the section "Reset," click Reset.

5. Confirm by clicking Reset Setting.

Method 6: Switch to Another Browser
