As an iOS user, you may prefer to use iCloud to backup iPhone photos, notes, videos, contacts and much more. However, have you encountered the iPhone won’t backup to iCloud issue? Don’t worry. Today we will show you the top 5 effective and simple methods to fix iPhone contacts not syncing to iCloud

Why Are Your iPhone Contacts not Syncing to iCloud?

Before learning the possible solutions to fix the issue, let’s first have a look at the main reasons why your iPhone contacts can’t sync to iCloud.

  • iCloud server status is not good.

  • Have no stable Internet connection.

  • Have no enough iCloud storage space.

  • You’ve logged into iCloud with the different Apple ID on your devices.

Having experienced this problem on a few occasions, I have found some possible tips that can help you easily fix iPhone contacts not syncing to iCloud issue. Read on to find out the way best suits you.

Method 1. Turn off and on Your Contacts in iCloud

The easiest solution to fix this issue is to turn off your Contacts in iCloud on your device and then turn it on in a few minutes. Follow the steps now.

Simply open Settings app on your iPhone and click your profile at the top of the screen. Then tap on “iCloud” and scroll down to find the “Contacts” option. Just turn it off and switch on it after several minutes.

Method 2. Check Internet Connection

If you still can’t fix iPhone contacts not syncing to iCloud after trying the first method, it’s time to check your Internet connection on your device. To sync contacts to iCloud, a stable Cellular Data network or Wi-Fi network is required.

You can change the data network to the wireless network and vice versa. In case the Contacts are still not into the synced mode, even with a good Internet connection, just try to reset the Network settings on your device. Now, see how it works.

Go to “Settings” > “General” > “Reset” > “Reset Network Settings”. Note that this way will delete all the network settings including Wi-Fi networks, passwords, etc.

This solution can usually work with other problems, like no service on iPhone XS after iOS 12 update, Instagram notifications not working on iOS 12, etc.

Method 3. Free up More Space for iCloud

The default iCloud storage is 5 GB, which will be used up quickly if you saved lots of photos and videos on your iPhone. When you receive the popup “Not Enough Storage”,  it means that you have run out of your iCloud storage and your iPhone data will not be backed up to iCloud.

If this happens to you, you can buy more iCloud storage based on your needs, but in fact, there is no need to expend the extra money to purchase such things. To free up more iCloud storage, you can delete unused photos from iCloud or other unwanted documents and data in iCloud, remove the older backups, reduce the size of iCloud Photo Library, backup iPhone files to computer, etc.

Actually, backing up all iPhone data to computer is one of the most reliable and effective ways to free up more space for your iCloud in case that you don’t want to delete any documents from iCloud. Just move to the next method to use an alternative to backing up iPhone contacts.
