It's quite easy to block any contact on your iPhone XS/ X/8/7/6/5. And this is a great idea to block advertising messages and call from tele markets or spammers. Similarly, you could be blocked by another person either accidentally or intentionally for some special reasons.

The blocking feature was introduced to iPhone with the update of iOS 7 and it can also be found in iOS 12. iPhone users can block contacts on iPhone to prevent them from sending you text messages, calling you or making a Facetime. For some person, it is an exciting feature because they can block unwanted calls.

Unfortunately, Apple does not send a call or message back to the person who is blocked. But there are specific signals which indicate whether you are blocked by that person or not. Follow the guide below to find out if someone has blocked your number on iPhone.

Method 1: Sending an iMessage and Check the Read Receipts

Try to confirm it by sending an iMessage to the person who might block your number on iPhone.

  • Fabricate a message. Write that person a message and ask him to reply you as soon as possible because it is some kind of emergency.

  • Take a closer look at the Read receipts.

Then, what do you see? Is it a “Read” or “Delivered” receipt? If you see “Read”, then which is a positive gesture, because your number is not blocked by that person. Your friends might have no time to reply.

However, if you see “Delivered”, then there is a chance that you are blocked by that person. But there is another reason behind “Delivered”. The other person might not have activated Read Receipt on her/his phone.

Method 2: Call Someone Who Might Have Blocked Your Number on iPhone

Call somebody who you believed have blocked your number on iPhone and deeply observe what is going on when you call him/her.

  • Do the phone rings like in normal situations? Or does it ring just once and then your call is directly transferred to the voice mail, asking you to leave a message?

  • After your first attempt, try calling him multiple times and see what happens. Are your calls always directly transferred to the voice mail?

If your calls are always directly transferred to the voice mails after a single ring or you are getting a busy tone or your call is being cut off. Then you can most likely assume that you’ve been blocked.

Also, there are other reasons behind these abrupt disconnections. He/She might have set all calls to his voice mails automatically or switched his/her phone off. But if that person has blocked you, he/she won’t get your voice messages, even if you are leaving a message behind.

Method 3:Try Calling from Other Phone Number

This is one of the simplest ways to find our if someone has blocked you. If you can’t make contact by using your one number, try a new one. If the phone gets through, then your old number is blocked by that person.

If you have blocked someone’s number on iPhone, then you can delete his or her contact on your device to clear up more space for your iPhone. In general, you can open Contacts app on iPhone and select one contact you want to remove. Then simply click “Edit” button in the right corner and scroll down to tap on “Delete Contact”.
