However, the screen recording in iOS 11 is not that apparent, and you may have some trouble activating and finding it. Therefore, this article describes in detail on how to record screen in iOS 11 on iPhone and iPad.

There are two main steps that are required in order to easily access screen recording in iOS 11 whenever you want to. First, you have to add it to the control center. And then you can easily record the screen in a few steps.

Add Screen Recording to Control Center in iOS 11

Step 1: Open up “Settings” on your iPhone

Step 2: Click on the “Control Center” option

Step 3: Next, click on “More Controls”

Step 4: Scroll down to Screen Recording

Step 5: Click on the green + besides “screen recording”

Step 6: Now, Screen Recording should be available in control center

How to Record Screen on iPhone/iPad in iOS 11

Step 1: Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to show the control center

Step 2: Click on the Recording icon (A white dot within a circle) to start screen recording.

During recording, you can set whether or not to record sound. As soon as you press the screen recording icon, a microphone icon appears in the bottom half of the screen. You can tap on it to either enable or disable the microphone sound. Depending on the type of recording you want to make, either disable or enable the mic sound before starting the recording.

How to Stop Screen Recording in iOS 11

Stopping the screen recording is just as easy as enabling it. When you are recording there will be a time showing at the top of the screen on the status bar. When you wish to stop the screen recording, you just click on the status bar, and a pop-up will show up. Just click on stop, and the screen recording will stop.


The screen recordings will be easily available in the Photos app as a recorded video. There, you can either share the recording with your friends, or apply some filters to it. You may also edit the video to retain the relevant parts only.

While screen recording is an amazing feature with lots of potential applications, it is also troublesome for some apps such as Snapchat which are unable to detect it.
