How to Convert MOV Video to GIF on iPhone or PC

MOV is considered a high-quality and compatible file format for storing audio and video. Both Windows and Mac users love to save video as MOV files. In this article, I will show you how to convert MOV video to GIF on PC or iPhone without watermark.

If you only need to convert a small MOV video to GIF, then you do not have to install a dedicated software on your PC to do it because there are a few free online tools out there.

No matter what operating system you are using, you can always use an online GIF Maker to convert video to GIF. Many free online tools allow you to upload a MOV video and convert it to GIF. Here, let’s take Cloudconvert as an example to show you how it works.

You can also transfer MOV video to iPhone and then use it to make GIF because the way to make GIF out of MOV video that I am about to show you works great on iPhone.

You do not even need a dedicated GIF converter app to do this. Truth be told, most of the free app from AppStore, if not all, come with ads or watermark. All you need is the Shortcuts or Workflow app, free automation tool acquired by Apple.

You can follow the steps below to see how it works.

Step 1. Get the Shortcuts app from AppStore. If you are running iOS 11 or older version, download the Workflow app instead.

Step 2. Get this GIF Maker shortcut that allows you to convert photos or videos to GIF. You should use Safari or Firefox to open the shortcut link.

Step 3. Run the shortcut and select the MOV video that you want to convert to GIF.

Step 4. Then you can trim the video if needed. There is no limitation about how long the video to be, so you can skip this step if you want the GIF to include the whole video content.

Step 5. When it finishes, you can preview the GIF. If no problem, you can save to Camera Roll or share it with your friends.

This method works great on iPhone. If needed, you can always transfer videos to iPhone and then use this method to convert to GIF since it takes no time.
