Technology has so much improved such that our mobile smartphones can help us do small chores like ordering pizza, hailing a cab or even detect heartbeats. One can easily assume or conclude that recording a phone call is a mere tip of the iceberg. Unfortunately, this is not the case when you're using an iPhone. In order to get this done, you need to get a third party application installed to easily help with the recording. There are several varieties of these apps on the Apple App Store or by simply surfing the Web. Although, there are very few of these apps that truly does the job well.

In this article, our focus will be to narrow down the list of these call recording apps to the best ones. It is however important to not forget that there are laws against this particular action. Therefore, it is important to get the consent of the other party before recording so as to avoid running into any legal trouble. Some states however requires only the consent of one party. The following are the overview of the best among the numerous call recorders.

1.       Using Google Voice to record calls on iPhone

Google Voice enables you to record only incoming calls at no cost. All you have to do is to Port your number over to Google so as to enable you to have access to then recording feature. This is somehow and sometimes considered inconvenient as you may often want to record all calls including outgoing calls. In order to get started, all you need to do is to set up an account on the Google Voice homepage then you can go ahead and enable call recording. Once this is done, press 4 on your iPhone during a phone call and an automated voice will inform both parties that the call is being recorded. In order to end the recording, press the number 4 again and your recordings will be automatically saved in your inbox from where you can either listen, delete or download.

2.       Using an iPhone app for recording

Now, this is how you get to record both your incoming calls as well as your outgoing calls. Although, most of these apps are not free buy they are worth every cent. For the purpose of this article only three of these tested apps will be discussed. They are:

l  Using NoNotes app: This is often suitable when you want to record a single call. Once it's downloaded, you will have to create a NoNotes account and you will be allowed to record 20 minutes call for free every month. Which means that every time you exceed this limit in a month you will have to pay for any additional minute. You can either pay 20¢ per minute or enjoy 100 minutes for just $10 if you buy in bulk.

l  Using IntCall app: Depending on the country you are calling, this is a cheaper choice since you can buy extra minutes for $5, $10 or $20. However, it is advisable that you first check out the price list before you decide on which one to buy. This makes it more of a bargain than the payment per minute that exists on the NoNotes app. The only disadvantage of using this app is that you need to be connected to a WiFi network before it can be used, this is because it only works through the VOIP line.

l  Using TapeACall Pro: This is a little bit costlier such that $10 gives you an unlimited access to record your call irrespective of which country you are calling. This is a great choice of app and it works differently from the other two listed above. The app does not notify the other party that the call is being recorded. Also, to record an incoming call you have to put the caller on hold while you open the app and press record then unhold the caller. This is the same when it's an outgoing call except you will have to open the app and press record before making the call which is automatically saved in your iPhone.

3.       Using external voice recorder.

Finally, you can also record a call on your iPhone by simply plugging a designed voice recorder directly into your iPhone. However, if you have either iPhone 7 or 7 Plus you will need to use headphone adapter for this to work perfectly. You can record calls of over one hour on the voice recorder the only downline is that they are more expect any other call recorder option.
