How to Fix iPhone or iOS Battery Life Problems

Let’s take a look at the ways we can cope up with iOS or iPhone battery problems!

Updated Dec 16,2016 | by Mike

Steve Jobs gifted the world with an amazing invention, the iPhone.  It is the most widely used and sold out product by Apple. The product has many pleasing outcomes. The camera, security, sound system, works best!

Unfortunately, the most widely heard complain heard by all iPhone users is that the battery drains too fast. iPhone 6s and 6s Plus are brilliant phones. But the users continue to criticize its battery life. Apple claims that iPhone 7 offers a 2 hour longer battery life than iPhone 6s and an hour longer battery life than iPhone 6s plus.

Let’s take a look at the ways we can cope up with battery problems!

1) Battery Percentage:

By default, iOS display the battery level on the top right corner of the status bar. You can enable your phone to display the remaining battery percentage on the status bar. This way you can keep track of how much battery you have left.

2) Battery Usage:

In iOS 8 Apple added a feature, which provided you with analysis of battery usage by apps. Apple has made some improvements to this feature in iOS 9. Now it shows you the exact amount of time the app was used for how much time it was running in the background. You can use that information to identify the applications which take the lion’s share of the battery.

How to track battery usage:

You can easily find battery usage on your phone by going to “Settings” and tapping on “Battery” This will show you the record of all the applications and internal services which are battery consumers. You’ll see two tabs appear as you tap on “Battery” By default; the first tab shows you all the applications which used up the battery in the last 24 hours. The second tab shows you the battery usage in the last 4 days. You can always change the amount of days by tapping the “Clock” icon next to the two bars.

3) Identifying Battery Eaters:

It is important to note that an application with high battery usage doesn’t always mean it’s a battery hog. Maybe it’s because you use it a lot. Applications which should bother you are those which appear on top even though you haven’t used them. If you’re not a fan of such applications, you should probably force close. A more efficient way is to delete them. But if you use it, you should turn of location services by: Location Services (Settings > Privacy > Location Services) and Background app refresh (Settings > General > Background App Refresh)

4) Location Services:

When we install applications, they push us to give them access to various things such location and we blindly say yes but location services can have a major impact on battery life. You can disable location services via Settings > Privacy > Location Services. If some applications like navigation need Location Services, you can turn them on individually by launching it.

5) Background Refresh:

It’s possible that background refresh app could be using this feature, which could end up draining battery life. You can turn off this feature by Settings > General > Background App Refresh > and turn it off for apps like Facebook or other apps that don’t need to be updated all the time.

6) Facedown your iPhone:

iOS includes a facedown detection feature, which enables the light sensor to ensure that the display doesn’t light up when you receive a Notification when you place the iPhone facedown. So whenever you place your iPhone on the table, you should place it facedown to conserve battery life.
